Please don't see this as one more thing that you have to do. You’re worthy to have a calm & peaceful life.

Dealing with Stress.

Dealing with stress is like a balancing act that you feel pressured to do. You’re barely staying afloat with trying to make ends meet when dealing with stress. The best part? Society says the minute you’ve (almost) hit emotional and physical exhaustion, you have to keep going. There’s no such thing as stopping to deal with stress. It seems like no one else is dealing with stress and burnout but you…

Dealing with stress can look different in different people. We live in a culture that celebrates workaholism. When dealing with stress, we are expected to tolerate high levels of stress all of the time. We have to uphold a sense of confidence, so others do not perceive us as “weak”. We feel forced to keep it to ourselves. However, that leaves us feeling depleted.

Dealing with Burnout.

Dealing with burnout means many things to us. We can no longer emotionally invest, physically invest, and there’s nothing left to give. The demands are continuously coming in and, yet, others fail to see how you’ve given all you can, the best you can. Failure to deliver or provide is viewed as a negative or flawed performance on your end. Rather a sign we are dealing with burnout symptoms. We ignore our thoughts & feelings about situations by engaging in unhealthy behaviors.

When does dealing with stress and burnout all stop? When do you get to breathe and realign your focus to come back and perform your best when you don’t get a break? When life begins to feel like a chore, how can you manage everyday nuances when dealing with burnout?

Dealing with Executive & Corporate Professional Burnout.

Being the boss is no easy task from the taxing responsibilities to those who are reliant on you. You finally made it to the top but now something’s missing. There’s no career fulfillment. You’re on autopilot & about to break. Resorting to heavy drinking, substance use, and risky behaviors seems to be the key. Bordering the destruction of everything you’ve worked so hard for. Perhaps, you’re being railed in at a demanding job . Your relationships are on the cusp of breaking due to your inability of managing dealing with stress & burnout. Don’t let executive and corporate professional burnout be the reason you give it all up.

Obtain the proper tools to help you manage executive & corporate burnout for your success.

The "ABCD" Desi Psychology:

When East Meets West

Conflicting thoughts & expectations of who you’re “supposed” to be in the eyes of society and family versus who you were -meant- to be creates chaos and pain. You don’t mean to create problems but it continues to happen. Anxiety from living up to unrealistic expectations, pressure of constant competition, money equating to success, respect, and conditional love. It feels like you’re lost and it even begins to feel like you’re a burden for being “different” for not confirming. It feels confusing, overwhelming, it’s infuriating; and to recognize THAT doesn’t make us confused “Desis”. It means we were always aware…

Grieving Missed Milestones

Grieving what you never had… Or having to jump obstacles after obstacles just to have a fraction what you hoped, dreamed, or expected for.

Reaching milestones means moving on to the next phase in life. When that doesn’t happen, it feels like there’s a pit of constant disappointment, exhaustion, and grief. IT eats at you. We try hard to detach from those negative feelings so we don’t look so “petty” or have to hear “well at least you got it… even if wasn’t how you wanted it…” Or have to hear for one more time that “these are the cards life dealt you”… You bury that pain and pretend everything’s OK.

Grieving the hurt from being hopeful about your future or feeling angry for being “tricked” into believing things will turn for the better, feeling envious and sad, comparing yourself to others. You feel hopeless. You have no choice but to accept what is…

Those feelings of loss, anger, sadness, pain of not meeting life milestones are all valid, I have been there. It doesn’t make you selfish to feel or experience them. They’re not stupid or silly. No need to beat yourself up for constantly feeling this way or thinking its wrong… you are not alone in this struggle.

Please allow me to be the aide that helps guide you in your journey.

Meet Priya

  • Priya Sharma, AMFT

I am an individual who has had the experiences of numerous adversities all throughout my life and overcame them. My experiences shaped the courage and resiliency which I have chosen to utilize in this helping field. As a victim of homicide, I was raised in an environment of chaos and disruption. Constantly drowning in repressed grief, trauma, depression, anger, adjustment and abandonment issues are examples of issues I had to overcome. Life became exhausting and a burnout. I couldn’t manage it alone and needed my own guidance.

This is exactly the reason why I gravitated towards this field. Given all my personal and various professional experiences in the medical field, I knew I would be an asset to the field of serving others. This field is a calling where I choose to advocate for others and help others improve their quality of life.
